The time period, between Oct. 31^st and Nov. 2^nd is one of the most widely celebrated ancient traditions honoring our ongoing connection to loved ones who have passed. Samhain heralds the thinning of the veil between the seen and unseen worlds; the Day of the Dead is a major festival in Mexico. Indigenous cultures have a completely different relationship with the dark and accept it as simply the other side of the light and the same is true for their views about death: it is simply the other side of life.

This year the energy will be very powerful as Mercury enters Scorpio on October 23^rd and goes retrograde on Halloween, which enhances our ability to summon the ancestors.
