Before I dive into my thoughts to Give Light, there’s just a little backstory. And introduction for those that don’t know me. My Memorial Day weekend wasn’t much of a holiday but it was a lot of fun with all the Lab work I did.  As a faithful Al G. I’ve been working mostly “behind the scenes” here at ESP Lab since the board unanimously voted me in as treasurer and the president-elect of Spiritual Science and by extension, naturally, ESP Lab back on October 31, 2024.

Before I dive into my thoughts to Give Light, there’s just a little backstory. And introduction for those that don’t know me. My Memorial Day weekend wasn’t much of a holiday but it was a lot of fun with all the Lab work I did.  As a faithful Al G. Manning student I wholeheartedly live by his motto “If I can’t have a good time I ain’t going”. That includes going to work on something or to somewhere.  It was a total blast completing the milestone task of publishing all of the Al Manning occult courses yesterday. Astral Al’s magic lectures haven’t seen the light of day for nearly twenty years. Except for The Light course

See what I did there? [grin]

Today I put up two more Al Manning books for publication in eBook format – Real Ritual Magick and Rainbows Falling on My Head.  There’s a snag with Rainbows which I’ll clear up quick but the other one is hot off the presses so to speak.  Kindle format coming in a few days. But I digress…

After a super-productive morning and early afternoon I knocked off the rest of the day and went with The Memorial Day spirit; first and foremost blessings on our fallen soldiers and sailors who gave their all to this great nation. Then I hit the pool then barbecued while watching a ball game.  Catching up on TV I watched the last two episodes of Doctor Odyssey – a two parter called The Wave. At the outset I didn’t like how far they leaned-in on amorality, only to be surprised, indeed impressed, by the hard-to-starboard turn in the opposite direction. A total 180 and on course in the right direction at flank speed. A ménage’s a trois led to monogamy. Somebody self-absorbed became selfless. And here I was thinking of having Doctor Odyssey walk the plank! Shiver me timbers!

See what I did there too?

OK time to get on point. During the second part of The Wave, a woman was in the ship’s infirmary going through a difficult labor under very difficult circumstances.  The midwife assisting told the frantic mother-to-be, howling in pain, to focus on giving her new baby light. That’s what mammalian moms do; they carry their babies in darkness until they are ready to go to the light and enter the world to start their life.

Paradoxically when life is ending there is often talk of going to the light too.  An ironic point to ponder.

What about that lengthy period of time between we call living?

That’s when we should all give light.

Is a co-worker having a bad day? Give light to them and see if that helps.

Ditto friends and neighbors, family and foes even. Negative people who are bent on evil get really pissed off – which I find very funny.  Good people tend to turn around.  That’s the good stuff.  That’s the heart of the matter.

You’ll find most total strangers receptive too.  I made a driving faux pas in my Ford which ignited angst in a driver behind me… who suddenly sped up to come up on my left – parallel to me.  I immediately yet slowly pulled back.  She did too but I felt no animosity.  I picked up no aggression.  I lowered my window.  Then she did.

”I’m so sorry for getting aggressive. I thought you were just another asshole on the road!”, or words to that effect. I smiled and said something like “No, I’m just a clueless driver in China Town for the first time.” We both laughed then I added “Thank you for being so reasonable. Working together you and me made Las Vegas a better place today.”

We went on about our business each of us  in a better mood than before.

I’m reminded of the muscles needed to smile vs frown cliche and posit it’s easier to give light than a middle finger.  Far more rewarding for all concerned as well.

Most forms of life love light; cats and dogs stretching out in the sun for a snooze, plants that literally grow in the direction of sunlight, frigid water warmed up to a fantastic friendly temperature.

How about that figure of speech of being in the dark…? Aren’t we all much more comfortable in the light?

When you get right down to it there really is no such thing as dark; it’s just a lack of light.

Give light

Artist Scott Adams

Ditto cold as the mere absence of heat.

When you give light you give warmth too.

One of my favorite songs of all time (by one of my favorite groups of all time) is Available Light.

It’s epic. It’s powerful. Play it for a boost. At full blast for maximum effect. Want to level up? SING IT as loud as you can. Spell singing is a thing. I’ll get to that. Stay tuned for more.

DRIVER QUESTIONS https://esplab.com/driver-questions/ Sat, 10 Apr 2021 21:59:34 +0000 https://esp-lab-10d3cff.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live/?p=6121 We are all familiar with affirmations: statements about something you desire to be true in your life. The classic example of an affirmation is: “I am rich.” Right now listen to your mind as your say to yourself, “I am rich.” Did you hear the response in your mind? A voice in your head said something sarcastic like, “Yeah, right!”

The plain truth is that most of us interpret affirmations as lies. We don’t believe our own affirmations. Why? Because we are trying to convince ourselves of something we do not believe is true.

Now, traditional success teachers realize that you may not believe your affirmations, so they tell us to repeat our affirmations over and over. A thousand times, or a million times, or a bizillion times, or as many times as it takes until you eventually believe or manifest them.

How many times have you said positive affirmations (examples include “I am enough”, “I am rich” and “I’m happy”) and had absolutely nothing happen? Me too. About a gazillion other people have too.

The human mind is always in the process of asking questions and seeking answers. For example, if I ask you, “Why does a boat float?” your brain will immediately start seeking an answer.

“It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question.” – Eugene Ionesco

Tony Robbins often says something to the effect that to be more successful you need to ask yourself better questions. Most people are unconsciously asking lousy questions, such as: “How come I am such a loser? Why can’t I do anything right? Why am I so lonely?

So if we make the affirmation “I am a millionaire”, our brain replies something like, “Yeah, right!” Asking “Why am I a millionaire?” will give you better results.

Try it right now. Ask yourself, “Why am I so rich?” Notice what your brain is doing right now? It is searching for the answer!

What is the primary Driver Question that is strongly influencing the outcome of your life? Years ago I came across the idea that we all live out of a “Driver Question” that acts as a compass — guiding us on either an anabolic or catabolic direction. Some people live out of the question, “What’s the next bad thing that’s going to happen?” or “How do I keep people from getting angry at me?” Some live in the question, “How do I impress people so I’ll be respected?”

Since the mind automatically triggers on questions, be VERY careful about the questions you ask yourself. Each question produces a different emotion and a different behavior. For example, if you ask yourself, “How do I keep people from getting angry at me?” it will create timidity and attract abusive individuals. “When will the next bad thing happen?” will usually produce fear and a focus on what’s awful. “How do I impress people so I will be respected?” often generates an inner emptiness and/or shallowness of character.

At one time I uncovered the fundamental question that ran my life was, “What do I have to get done next?” It was no coincidence that at the time I was acting more like a human doing than a human being.

The really great news about “Driver Questions” is that once we are aware of the principle, we can deliberately choose a more supportive question! This realization inspired a search for a question that would always show me my true north — a question that would consistently lead me in the right direction. What do you think might be your own Driver Question? Would there be any benefit in shifting it to something even more supportive?

Please consider a few of the following ‘Driver Question’ possibilities:

How can I be the best person I can possibly become? What do I really enjoy about my work right now?
How do I have so much fun, getting so much done in so little time? How can I serve others in a way that really works well for everyone? How can I fill my heart with more Love?

My current drive question is “How can I best express love and kindness? Another great question you might want to ask yourself is: “Why am I allowed to do, be and have all that I want in life?”

In Light and Love,
Michael
