Astral projection is largely shunned in Christianity and widely accepted in Judaism as a party of daily (nightly, actually) life. Judaism has a long tradition describing experiences during sleep that sound very similar to what today might be called out-of-body experiences (OBEs) or astral travel. While classical Jewish sources do not usually use modern metaphysical language like “astral projection,” they do speak about the soul partially leaving the body during sleep.
