We are entering our last solstice of the year on the 21^st of December. This is a very stressful time of the year with many layers of endings, the longest night of the year. It can be a very emotional time of the year especially when we put so much pressure on ourselves to meeting other peoples expectations in not only the gift giving end of things but also trying to meet other peoples expectations of getting together during the holiday season.

Winter Solstice 2018

This letter brings my heartfelt wishes for a truly joyous holiday season and an abundant New Year. In the Northern Hemisphere, December 21st is the time of the longest night (it is the longest day in the Southern Hemisphere). The Winter Solstice is universally honored with lights the world over. People have burned oil lamps, candles and bonfires, and now, electric light bulbs are strung around our homes. My mother used to tell me as a child that these traditions reassured us that days of longer sunlight would be returning.

Yet there is much to appreciate in the dark. Indigenous wisdom holds that darkness is simply the other side of light and there is great creative power in the void. The following lyrics capture this:
On the longest night, we search for the light
And we find it deep within
As we open our eyes, we embrace what it wise
And see the light of our souls shining
Enter the night and you’ll find the light
That will carry you to your dreams

Accessing the Divine Feminine

In order to heal our planet, I feel we must reclaim the Divine Feminine variously called The Great Goddess, The Great Mother, Earth Mother, Mother of All.

During the Bronze Age, the High Priestess was the Earthly representative of the Great Mother. In the cultures that honored the divine feminine as well as the divine masculine, all paths were open to women as well as men and were honored equally: women were valued in all three stages of their lives: Maiden, Mother, and Crone and the roles of masculine and feminine was more balanced in the agrarian communities of Old Europe.

I believe that in acknowledging the divine feminine in our selves; men as well as women, we become far more life affirming.

A Deeper Look at Discernment and Judgment

One of the primary takeaways I hope you got from my article “Levels of Energy” is that Level One energy has 100% catabolic energy, 100% fear, and total judgment, while Level Seven energy has 100% anabolic energy and no fear or judgment. Catabolic energy is energy that tears down, and Anabolic energy is energy that builds up.

In my article “Discernment and Judgment” I wrote the following eight paragraphs (which are so important they are worth repeating):

What Is Judgment?

Judgment is an opinion or criticism misusing the power of comparing. It is a form of projection and feeds the ego’s deception of being better (or worse) than someone or something else. The person judging makes the assumption that s/he has the power and the right to determine what is good or bad in general.

On the 29^th of November – schedule extra time for everything today, stay conscious and engaged.

We suggest you tune in on this powerful spiritual energy at least upon arising and at bedtime. Just sit quietly and picture yourself basking in a beam of bright white LIGHT, as if a searchlight were beaming down on you from the ceiling above your head. Let the wonderful energy bathe you for a few minutes, then affirm “I accept the loving help of the Living Light. It flows into all areas of my life expression, making my path easy, healthy, prosperous, loving and meaningful. I promise myself and the Infinite to devote a significant part of the results of this help to promote my own spiritual growth and contribute to all the progress of mankind.

Meditation or relaxed days – make them the best days ever 7th, 21st, 28th. Experiment with different types of meditation such as deep breathing – moving chi gong, walking, music, meditation – silence or guided, gentle yoga or soft stretching.

Mercury… Communication in all forms from old fashioned verbal & written to that which travels on sound waves.

As a young man of 15 I turned to my father’s library and found THE PROPHET by Kahlil Gibran. It became my favorite book of the year and is still on my list of top ten favorites. Gibran’s comments that “the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears” and “The deeper your sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain” made me feel that the suffering I felt as a teenager was only increasing my potential for joy!

And so it is, on planet earth, LIFE IS AN EBB AND FLOW. We have day and we have night, we have black and we have white, male and female, good and evil, spirit and matter, rain and sun—our world is ruled by the balance of duality!

TODAY IS A BLUE SKY DAY! THANK GOD!

he sky is blue here today at ESP LAB HQ… (with a hint of smoke) and in beautiful Colorado we get 280 to 300 days of sunshine per year. Fabulous. Unfortunately you may have seen Durango in the national news—as a 40,000 acre wild fire started in view of our Lab HQ. Smoke was terrible. Rain spirits came in a gollywasher and took care of most of the smoke… and so we persevere in spite of all challenges.

As the approaching summer sun seeks to warm things up a notch, let’s take a moment and feel the transformative power of the BLUE LIGHT of creativity, peace and protection. Let it purify our auras, bringing peace, protection and prosperity!

Actually it was a Mercury Retro in fall of ‘77, when I developed a taste for astrology. I noticed a friend’s prognostications re: some were correct. Soon after I started reading Al’s books and in Spring of ‘78 started reading Al’s Maverick Astrology column. I noticed it corresponded to Jim Maynard’s Celestial Guide.
