As many of us get through the challenges of extreme winter weather, Al Manning would say, “this too shall pass.” It is important to stay positive and forward thinking. Al knew that Life is Change. Now, for those of us in the North American continent, Spring is just around the corner. Let us welcome the pending Spring into our hearts and minds and then, before you know it, Spring with all its glory of renewal and rebirth returns.
Recently I received a copy of the book, THE I-CHING, which is also known as THE BOOK OF CHANGES. Some fifty years or so ago, I became exposed to its teachings, which offer oracles and ethical teachings since the dawn of time.

Connect with plants during Spring Equinox,
This year in the Northern Hemisphere, March 20th is the Spring Equinox when day and night will be equal in length at the equator. Also known as Ostara or Eostre (the origin of the name Easter) light and dark will be perfectly balanced. It is also the New Year for Persians as well as the Earth Honoring spiritual traditions that follow the ancient ways.
In these ancient traditions the Vernal Equinox is considered the time of Green Fire. It refers not only to sap rising, but also to the electrical energy pulsing through the growing plants. This is not a metaphor. My electrician husband told me that the green fire is literally electrical, just like our nervous systems.

Mercury is now Direct. Moon is new on January 21st. Chinese New Year is pending… Spring is on the way… It is Time to begin again!!
Al Manning, founder of the ESP LAB, used to say, “What’s new? Me! I am always new and exciting.” This dovetails with an affirmation from Dr. Al Fann, the actor who ran the Institute for Higher Mind—which was down the street from the ESP Lab in Hollywood when I lived there in the late 1970’s. Al Fann would say, “I am unique, wonderful and extremely exciting!” Point is, that these positive attitudes can lead you to a better day and a more successful life.

Winter is here! Mercury turned Retrograde Dec 29th, 2022 FULL MOON in Cancer, Jan 06, 2023
I am happy to say that despite whatever challenges, the ESP LAB and I made it through the past year! Huzzah! Huzzah. It was a year of the tiger which some say is a vicious year. 2023 is the year of the Water Rabbit, which starts on the Chinese New Moon of January 22nd, 2023 (Chinese New Year), and ending on February 9th, 2024 (Chinese New Year’s Eve). The softer sign of the bunny is a symbol of peace, prosperity, and longevity… along with fertility. Let it be a better year for all of us. 2023 is predicted to be a year of hope.

Mercury enters retrograde motion starting on December 28, 2022, and lasting into the new year! According to the age-old practice of astrology, we are all influenced by the effect of Mercury in retrograde. What exactly does it mean for each of us, though? Read on to find out.
Three times a year, the planet Mercury appears to travel backward across the sky. We refer to these periods as times when Mercury is in apparent retrograde motion, or simply ”Mercury retrograde.” To those who practice astrology, these times in particular were traditionally associated with confusion, delay, and frustration.

Celebrate the Cycle of Life,
The Fall Equinox is the second of the three major harvest festivals. The Celtic name for it is Mabon: the season of storing food and preserving nature’s bounty for the coming winter months. This year it will be on September 22nd at 6:04 pm PDT just as the sun enters Libra, the sign of the balancing scales. The term Equinox refers to this balance of day and night. Fall is the time of plants shedding their seeds, going underground until new plants rise up in the Spring
In ancient Greek and Roman traditions, during the Fall Equinox the Grain Goddess Demeter was honored. Originally, she was a triad: the Maiden (Kore or Persephone), Mother (Demeter), and Crone (Hecate) in the Pantheon that predated the Olympian myths.
