Winter is here! Mercury turned Retrograde Dec 29th, 2022 FULL MOON in Cancer, Jan 06, 2023
I am happy to say that despite whatever challenges, the ESP LAB and I made it through the past year! Huzzah! Huzzah. It was a year of the tiger which some say is a vicious year. 2023 is the year of the Water Rabbit, which starts on the Chinese New Moon of January 22nd, 2023 (Chinese New Year), and ending on February 9th, 2024 (Chinese New Year’s Eve). The softer sign of the bunny is a symbol of peace, prosperity, and longevity… along with fertility. Let it be a better year for all of us. 2023 is predicted to be a year of hope. Let’s hope so!!
The planet Mercury– the RULER of the mind, communication, business, & transportation– and a strong influencer of relationships– went RETRO on December 29th, 2022, and will stay that way until January 18h. There is always a shadow time as we move in and out of this mental swamp. Frustration is high and relationships with employers and significant others are challenged! Best policy is to say as little as possible, transcend frustration and communication challenges, and plod through it! This Mercury Retro is shorter than normal so let us enjoy this and then start over with Chinese new year.
There are four Mercury Retrograde periods in 2023 as follows:
December 29th 2022 to January 18th, 2023
April 21st 2023 to May 14th, 2023
August 23rd to September 15th, 2023
December 13th 2023 to January 1, 2024
AND a VENUS Retro period July 23rd to September 4th, 2023. While Mercury Retro can seem to break the mind for a bit, Venus Retro breaks the heart. Mercury Retro is a time of mental challenge while Venus Retro is a period of emotional disfunction.
Here is my personal Mercury Retro survival plan. I post mine on the refrigerator for the period to remind me: “1) don’t panic. 2) say less not more. 3) stay in your spiritual center. 4) be patient with all communications. 5) prune all unnecessary activity – especially travel plans and new projects. 6) avoid new purchases – especially computers, automobiles, and electronic devices. 7) know that this aspect has a beginning, a middle, and an end… keep plodding through it. 8) don’t quit your job, change your friends, or your location – save this for better times. 9) emphasize the “better” aspect of Mercury retro: see old friends, work on stalled projects, clean out closets, emphasize spirituality. 10) Focus on the ORANGE LIGHT to help promote mental clarity.” Follow these 10 steps with a good attitude and your experience of Mercury Retro can be more productive and positive.
