2021 Summer Solstice Newsletter

Merry Midsummer my Friends,

June 20th is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Latitudes. Also known as Midsummer, this Solstice (meaning ‘Sun stands still’) is when the Sun is at its peak, creating the longest day of the year. It is also one of the eight great spokes on the Celtic wheel of seasons, and celebrated in some way in all cultures. Midsummer’s Eve is the zenith of summer; the felt sense of Beauty is everywhere.

The Pandemic is easing now and as we emerge from our cocoons there is a deep need to transform our inner pain from fear, loss and trauma into a new sense of who we are and what truly matters to us. The practice of choosing Beauty which Gregg Braden, in The Wisdom Codes describes as a force of nature that has the power to transform the chemistry in our bodies, is essential to our recovery, building the resilience necessary to fully emerge as wiser, more conscious humans.

Celebrate May Day My Friends

May Day is the time when nature has truly come alive. Our ancestors joyfully embraced the fertility of Mother Earth because plant growth and pollination was everywhere, providing abundant harvests in the fall. The Celtic name for this period is Beltane, which means bright or sacred fire. During the festival, great bonfires were lit and animals and fields were blessed in hopes for an abundant year. Traditionally May Day began on the eve of May 1st and lasted throughout the next day. It was often celebrated with feasting, dancing, and merriment all the way through May 15th.

Beltane was a time when lovers ran off to the fields and woods together to honor the Goddess with ecstatic lovemaking.

The Magick of the Love and Healing Power of OSTARA, Goddess of Spring

Spring has come to the mountains of Colorado, where I live and where we host the ESP LAB HQ.  Snow and ice are melting, green grass is starting to grow as other green plants poke their heads above their dark wintry earth homes, seeking the new sun.  I am reminded of the Goddess Ostara.  Also known as Eostre… the name provides roots for words like Easter and Estrogen.  She is associated with the Spring Equinox and some call this celebration by Her name.

I had the amazing rare experience of meeting Ostara, Spring of 1980.  I was a newer ESP Lab member at the time, and living in Hollywood and attending classes in the ESP LAB of Hollywood.  THE MAGICK of NEW ISHTAR POWER was Al’s latest book and I was really enjoying the read with the emphasis on personal spirit contact.

2021 Spring Equinox

Joyous Spring Equinox my friends,

This year in the Northern Hemisphere, the Vernal Equinox is March 20th, at 5:37 am Pacific Time, as the Sun enters Aries. Millennia ago this was considered the beginning of the New Year; hence the sign of Aries is at the beginning of the Zodiac.  The Persian New Year is still celebrated on the Spring Equinox, following these very ancient traditions

Equinox means that day and night will be balanced at the equator.  Also known as Ostara or Eostre (the origin of the name Easter), the hours of light and dark will be equal. In ancient traditions this is known as the time of Green Fire, which refers to the sap rising in trees and to the electrical energy pulsing through the rapidly growing plants.

Celebrate the Return of the Light, My Friends

Imbolc is the time of hope for new life and the return of the light.  In the US, most people think of February 2nd as Groundhog Day, the portent of how many more weeks of winter are in store. However, for thousands of years, Imbolc, meaning “in the belly” was a sign of hope as there would be lambs born in the spring. In addition they saw the noticeable signs that the days were lengthening.

Right after the truly inspiring Winter Solstice in 2020, with all the astrological portents; especially Jupiter and Saturn in Grand Conjunction in the sign of Aquarius, and the beautiful trine from the Moon to Venus; symbolizing love and connection, we found hope for the dawning of a new era.

Yuletide Blessings my Friends

Yuletide Blessings my friends,

I send my heartfelt wishes for a meaningful holiday and a hope filled New Year. December 21st is the longest night in the Northern Hemisphere. The Winter Solstice is honored with ceremonies using some form of light all over the world. Folks have burned Yule logs, gathered for bonfires, and lit torches, candles, and oil lamps. The traditions reassured them that the days of more light would be returning. We string electric lights around our homes at this time but rarely do we appreciate what the effect of long dark nights would have been because it is so easy to switch on a light.

This year, December 21st will be a powerful time and not only because it is the longest night.

JUPITER & SATURN will form the first double planet in 800 years…

JUPITER & SATURN will form the first visible “double planet” in 800 years…

Before 2020 comes to a close, Jupiter and Saturn will be so close that they will appear to form a “double planet.” The great conjunction, as the planetary alignment has come to be known, hasn’t occurred in nearly 800 years.

When their orbits align every 20 years, Jupiter and Saturn get extremely close to one another. This occurs because Jupiter orbits the sun every 12 years, while Saturn’s orbit takes 30 years — every couple of decades, Jupiter laps Saturn, according to NASA.

However, 2020’s conjunction is especially rare — the planets haven’t been observed this close together since medieval times, in 1226.

“Alignments between these two planets are rather rare, occurring once every 20 years or so, but this conjunction is exceptionally rare because of how close the planets will appear to one another,” Rice University astronomer Patrick Hartigan said in a statement.

Winter Solstice is near…!!

Winter Solstice, also known as ‘midwinter” draws nigh…  a time when the sun renews its cycle and “returns.”  In North America, this year, it happens on December 21st at 3:02 am MST in the morning on December 21st, as the sun enters the sign of Capricorn.  Winter Solstice is the day with the shortest period of daylight and with the longest night of the year,  After this important day the days start getting longer, hurray!!  Fire and light are traditional symbols of celebrations held at the darkest time of the year. Since the beginning of time, the winter solstice has been seen as a significant time of year in many cultures, and has been marked by festivals and rituals.  It symbolizes the death and rebirth of the Sun.

ESP and Christmas

Al wrote a great fun series (one of his last) about ESP for our website ESPLAB.com.

By Al G Manning

The whole of the Bible contains much Spirit Contact and many other forms of ESP. We might start with John the Baptist who was predicted by an angel of the Lord who struck his father dumb until the actual birth and the name John was given to him. John went about the land preaching of the coming and baptizing people before Jesus appeared.

Samhain Greetings my Friends

The time period, between Oct. 31st and Nov. 2nd is one of the most widely celebrated ancient traditions honoring our ongoing connection to loved ones who have passed. Samhain heralds the thinning of the veil between the seen and unseen worlds; the Day of the Dead is a major festival in Mexico. Honoring our ancestors with love and gratitude has always been the theme of this time. Given all the precarious events, culminating in a contentious presidential election, just one day after the Day of the Dead, we need our beloved guides’ help more than ever.

This is the time of going within and diving deeper into your soul. The ancient wisdom is that we do not lose our connection with our loved ones who have crossed over.
